Orlando Vacation-Day Two

Saturday was our first full day there. We ate breakfast at Shade of Green, then we went to the Magic Kingdom. The hotel provides a shuttle to all the parks, so we didn't have to drive, park, ect. Very nice! They had the park all decorated for Fall and Halloween. It was pretty cool to see everything dressed up (I want to go at Christmas to see everything decorated for that!). We climbed the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, went on Pirates of the Caribbean, flew with Dumbo, went through the Haunted Mansion, explored Tom Sawyer's Island, rode It's a Small World, took out Zorg on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and Christopher went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We also got great flip flop tans! We didn't have a chance to go on Space Mountain (technical difficulties-they had a lot of those that day) so we decided to go back the next morning to do some more stuff at the Magic Kingdom. We all went to bed early that night!  Yes, Wesley looks *so* miserable in all the pictures, lol.
He fell asleep on the way home, he was so tired! But he was very excited to get back to the hotel and reunite with Stars.

Trip to Orlando-Day One

On Friday (September 5) we drove down to Orlando Florida despite the fact that there were several possible hurricanes headed our way. It was rainy down 95 but once we turned inland towards Orlando the weather cleared right up. Turns out our "Vacation Evacuation plan" was a good one (score one for Sundee, Christopher wanted to stay put and ride out the storm).

We got to Shades of Green, which is a military resort right on the Disney complex. It is a beautiful place, they recently refurbished it and added on a new wing, which we got to stay in. Our R&R package included breakfast and dessert at the hotel, so that cut down on our food expenses which was really nice. We had a beautiful view of the golf course from our room. They have lots of fish in the ponds to feed, two very nice pools (one Mickey Mouse shaped!) and remote control boats that Christopher and Wesley had a good time playing with. They also had an AFFES which was nice. It's a beautiful resort, we are looking forward to going back and staying there again.
